North Bali - Lovina Beach and the Gitgit waterfall

This day in Bali was destined to know a little of the north of the island. It was the day we visited the Ulun Danu, the Lake Temple , but for this visit I wrote a separate post. In this post, I'll tell you the rest of the Bali walking day above.
We left Sahadewa early with a taxi driver, who also played the role of our guide that day. Our destinations: Lovina, the beach; Gitgit, the waterfall; and, finally, Ulun Danu, the temple.
Lovina is known as one of the quietest beaches in Bali. Stay out of the chaos, the tourist boomof Kuta, off the high-surf beaches so coveted by surfers around the world. It is a beach of calm waters  and dark sands, almost as dark as coal. I confess that when I got there I felt even a little bit of disappointment. After all, it was the first beach I knew on the island and it definitely did not fit in with anything I'd ever read and heard about Bali. And on top of that, the day, which had dawned so sunny, was already dark, announcing the storm that would soon fall.
We did not have enough time for the most interesting attraction that Lovina offers to tourists: the boat trip to see the dolphins. If we had done this tour, perhaps my impression of the place would be quite different, as reports of dawn on a Balinese boat, watching the dolphins show off in the water, are really lovely. One day I return to Bali to correct this "lack".
The boat trips to observe (and photograph!) The dolphins cost approximately 4 euros per person (do not forget to negotiate the price before, because in Bali you can always get a lower value), and the hotels themselves offer the service.
Leaving Lovina, before reaching the Gitgit waterfall, we stop at a small temple on the way. Place of immense simplicity and beauty. It was worthwhile to take that pass and get to know, even quick.
Bali tips
And, after the temple, we visited the waterfall Gitgit. We went down a trail through the woods. It was already starting to rain hard, and we made the hiking trail down with the umbrellas open.
Gitgit is a beautiful waterfallLocated in the north of Bali, it is about 35 meters high and lies within a tropical forest. To get to it, we did a good walk ... but it was worth it! The view is really breathtaking!
most beautiful rice fields in Bali
If you are looking for the best rice field bali then ubud is on higher side. Ubud and the neighboring villages, which lie in the middle of the subak irrigation system, are in general a heaven for those who appreciate the beautiful greenery of the rolling rice terraces. Only 30 minutes to 1 hour away from Kuta, they are easily accessible. Doing organized tours around the surrounding areas of some of the upscale resorts might sometimes be the best way to go, but if you feel confident armed with just a map and some instructions from people in the know, there’s nothing to stop you going for a rice field trek on your own. If you are not that keen on walking, you can hire a bicycle instead. Either one of these options might lead you to rice fields only a few lucky other have passed through before.
